HWM Group is a Hampshire-based company providing a comprehensive full cycle range of Demolition, Waste Handling, Contaminated Soil and Groundworks Contracting services for redevelopment projects across the south of England.

We are looking for a skilled accounts administrator to oversee accounts payable across the entire organisation. The accounts administrator will be responsible for reviewing and reconciling incoming invoices. They will maintain up-to-date records of all invoices and receipts. The candidate will also provide support to HWM’s finance team and will be delegated accounting duties by senior members of the team as necessary.

Objectives of the role

  • Provide support and oversight to HWM’s finance team
  • Ensure all accounting documentation is correctly stored and highly visibleAnalyse transaction records to comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Receive and verify billing and requisitions on any and all goods and services
  • Contact clients to capture timely payments
  • Maintain the authenticity and integrity of HWM’s accounting affairs

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee all outstanding supplier, customer, and third-party vendor obligations
  • Process all invoices
  • Remind clients to make timely payments
  • Identify and address discrepancies in all documentation
  • Update relevant databases and spreadsheets related to accounting

Experience and skills required

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping procedures and best practices
  • Impeccable time management skills working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to stay organised and maintain detailed records
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Experience of accounting software
  • Basic arithmetic competency

Preferred qualifications

  • Significant experience in finance or accounting
  • Accounting software proficiency e.g. COINS
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software e.g.Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data entry
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving techniques

 

Location: South Winchester, Hampshire

Hours: Monday – Friday, full-time permanent
